MMB explores interdisciplinary programs to break down
barriers between subjects. MusicMoves can program music relating to
historical events such as the French Revolution, Enlightenment era,
WWI and Holocaust. We can also collaborate with visual artists and
dancers.
Sample programs of social or
historical relevance:
Women of Note (important but
overlooked female composers)
Fanny Mendelssohn, Amy Beach and Clara Schumann
Made in USA (showcasing
American composers)
George Gershwin, Arthur Foote and local composer Daniel Pinkham
Expressions of Impressionism (unique
flavor of French visual art and music)
Debussy, Faure and Ravel
Homeland Security (folk
melody & nationalism in music)
Janacek, Smetana and Dvorak
Strategies of Survival (composers
of the Holocaust)
Klein, Dauber, Ulmann and Milhaus

Chamber music was originally intended
for intimate social gatherings. Our concept reestablishes such venues
and offers listeners the rare opportunity to interact with musicians
in the intimacy of your home. Programs can reflect regional cuisine or
wines, or we can explore any themed concert of your choice.
A few samples of possible soiree concert themes:
Un Buffet Français (French musical
gems from all eras)
Gabriel Fauré, Jean Francais, Jean Marie Leclaire and Frederic
Chopin
Got Trio? (showcasing the unique variety of string trio literature)
Luigi Boccherini, Franz Schubert, W.-A. Mozart and Gideon Klein

MusicMoves Boston musicians have a vast array of collective
experience in staging educational performances for seniors, youths
and adults. MMB appears on a recurring basis at many senior communities.
We have participated in Boston Symphony’s Educational Outreach
and have incorporated students into our concerts in an active role.
The Cambridge Adult Education and Boston University’s EVERGREEN
series will be presenting numerous MMB events next season.
Sample programs with an educational
angle:
Chips off the Old Bach (J.S.
Bach’s widespread influence)
J.S. Bach, Magdalena Bach, CPE Bach and Mozart
For Four (historical
review of the string quartet as a medium)
Tartini, Haydn, Mozart and Dvorak
From Prodigy to Master (early
versus later works)
Mozart, Mendelssohn and Prokofiev
Emotion Emulsion (venting
through music)
Brahms, Shostakovich and Smetana

MusicMoves can help select music to
reflect an organization’s
interests or background. A MusicMoves concert will add an elegant and
generous touch to a gala or fundraising event.
Ideas include:
• Corporate or Non-Profit event
or fund-raiser
• A concert performed right before
or after an event dinner
• A MMB performance can be an item in
a silent auction
